Behavioural Economics & Health Decisions

Synopsis
This workshop is to introduce core ideas in behavioural economics with applications to health behaviour. We cover bounded rationality, prospect theory, loss aversion, heuristics and biases, and present bias, and show how these lead to departures from standard rational choice. We examine nudging and choice architecture, including defaults, salience, and social norm messaging, and explore how these approaches can potentially enhance health decisions.
